Flores starts in net for Canada on the heels of a shutout by Tim Barlow the previous game against India. Slovakia comes into the game unbeaten and looking to make it’s mark in a clash of 1st place teams.

Canada came flying out of the gates!

Canada came out flying and applied constant pressure and possession throughout the first, but despite 3 powerplays found itself still locked as neither team managed to score in the first.

Slovakia finally drew first blood 7:26 into the 2nd; Boris Oravec put home a rebound after getting position on Flores in tight. Slovakia found their legs from there and started getting better zone time on Canada. With 1:05 remaining in the 2nd, Filip Titka took advantage of a turnover and put Slovakia up by one heading into the final frame.

Jaroslav Martinusik put Slovakia out of reach just minutes into the third and Slovakia never looked back as they fend off the Canadians 3-0. Canada now faces Switzerland on Thursday while Slovakia awaits its opponent for a 4pm date the same day.

Slovakia handles the pressure early to tally 3 total.
