Presidents Notes 3
JUNE 2010 - On behalf of the ISBHF I would like to thank Vladimir Papranec, and his host committee, staff and volunteers involved with the U18/U16 WJC recently held in Most, CZE. The event was extremely well organized and represented itself well as another in a long line of top-notch tournaments held in the Czech Republic.
Our Czech partners go to the extreme to provide a professional spectacle and raise the level of presentation ever higher. The sport owes them a great deal of thanks.
In addition, their host cities are intelligently selected, choosing sites that have municipal governments that are supportive of the sport and tourism.
The recent elections in the national federation returned some key people such as Josef Kadane and Vit Rezac to their executive, something we should all be thankful for. Along with retiring Petr Fiala, they have upheld the global vision necessary to drive a young sport such as ours, committing time, energy, and funds to the endless pursuit of international growth.
So I salute the Českomoravský svaz hokejbalu and its members for their outstanding commitment to street/ball hockey.
President's note
George Gortsos
ISBHF president
This past weekend I had the honour of becoming the third President of the ISBHF.
I believe that as a player and coach I have always strived to play ball hockey in a skilled and team way. Now I have a chance to work with all the great leaders of our sport throughout the World who love the game like we all do. I met some great people in Paris. And I would like to thank the representatives of all our member nations who voted me in on behalf of ball hockey players around the World.
This is an honour I will handle with the honesty and hard work that made me a successful player and coach. I want to share the main keys that I will strive to work with my fellow board members to make this game better around the World.
