ISBHF Appoints New Representatives in Thailand to Lead Growth of Ball Hockey

The International Street and Ball Hockey Federation (ISBHF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Curtis Dracz and Michael Kusy as the new ISBHF representatives for Thailand. Both bring extensive experience in hockey development, community building, and event management across Asia, marking an exciting new chapter for the sport’s growth in Southeast Asia.

Based in Chiang Mai, Curtis and Mike are driving the development of ball hockey in Thailand through their organization, The Rink Society — a new multi-sport venue currently in development that will become the country’s first dedicated facility for ball and inline hockey. Their vision is to introduce the sport to schools, families, and communities while creating structured programs and pathways for players of all ages to participate, learn, and compete.

The Rink Society has already begun laying the foundation for this growth through partnerships with international schools and the introduction of learn-to-play pilot programs for children. The upcoming facility in Chiang Mai will include a dedicated sport court along with fitness, training, and community areas designed to host programs and tournaments year-round. Alongside the ISBHF, the team aims to establish Thailand as a recognized member nation by developing certified programs for teachers, expanding youth participation, and connecting with local ball hockey groups in Chiang Mai, Bangkok, and Phuket to unify and strengthen the sport’s presence nationwide. We are thrilled to welcome Curtis and Mike as ISBHF representatives for Thailand,” said Elio Pascuzzo, President of the ISBHF. “They understand that growing hockey starts with people — by connecting schools, families, and local players. Their energy and vision are exactly what the sport needs as we continue to expand across Asia.”

Under their leadership, ISBHF Thailand will focus on:

  • Launching school-based programs and teacher certification workshops in partnership with local and international schools.
  • Growing grassroots participation through learn-to-play initiatives, youth leagues, and 3v3 community tournaments.
  • Collaborating with existing ball hockey groups in Chiang Mai, Bangkok, and Phuket to continue supporting growth and engagement in those markets.- Establishing Thailand’s presence in regional and international ISBHF competitions, paving the way for future national representation.

“It’s an honor to represent the ISBHF here in Thailand,” said Curtis Dracz. “For us, this is about giving people a place to play and belong. If we can help more kids and adults pick up a stick for the first time, that’s a win for the game.”

Mike Kusy added, “We’re not just building a rink — we’re building a community. This is the start of something that can grow for years to come.”

The ISBHF looks forward to supporting their efforts and welcoming Thailand as an active member nation contributing to the sport’s continued global growth.
